The elasticated Chelsea boot dates back to 1851, but it wasn’t until the 70s that we gave it a rugged DM’s overhaul. Built from tough, Smooth leather on our signature grooved AirWair sole, our 2976 Chelsea boot is an agricultural silhouette transformed into a subcultural classic. The instantly recognisable shape speaks for itself in this monochromatic rework, built from black Smooth leather and finished with black welt stitching and a tonal AirWair heel loop.- The 2976 is the rugged Docs take on the classic Chelsea boot. - Hardwearing and famously tough, our Smooth leather can be polished to shine or scuffed-up. It’s up to you. Clean with a damp cloth and care with Dr. Martens Shoe Polish
- A pillar of DM’s construction. Our Original and most recognisable sole. A height of 1.25"/3.17cm — marked by traditional DMS tread pattern that's unique to Dr. Martens. One of our most flexible soles, well known for its comfort and stability

MaterialSmooth leather is as classic as it gets: with us from the beginning, it is famously tough and can be buffed up to a high shine or artfully scuffed up.
Care InstructionsWipe away dirt using a damp cloth. Apply a neutral or correct colored wax based shoe polish. Buff with a Dr. Martens Shoe Brush to restore shine as desired.
